The
Hewlett-Packard 700mx and 2300ux Optical Libraries
(Optical Jukebox) provided 690GB of storage when configured
with 9.1GB Magneto-Optical drives
(M-O) and 2.3TB when configured with 30GB Ultra Density
Optical drives (UDO).
In June 2006, Hewlett-Packard announced End-of-Life
for the entire family of optical libraries, with
End-of-Support scheduled for June 2011, at which
time Hewlett-Packard may or may not be able to
provide replacement drives or robotic parts for
their libraries.
Plasmon
Magneto-Optical libraries, offering capacities
from 220GB to 5.8TB, are the direct replacement
for Hewlett-Packard Magneto-Optical libraries.
The Plasmon
Gx-80 optical library is the direct
replacement for the HP 700mx and HP2300ux optical
libraries.
For higher-capacity libraries based on a 60GB
optical platter, Plasmon offers a full line of UDO
Optical libraries with capacities that range
from 1.4TB to 38TB in a single library.
